Introducing Nadine’s Candle

Nadezda Gorodetskaya created Nadine’s Candle in 2015. She was inspired by her extensive collection of traditional and contemporary artisan candles. Nadine set up her studio and has developed a range of candles that seeks to capture the mystery and romance of the burning flame. This ethos is rooted in the magical process of transforming raw paraffin wax into a beautiful, highly refined piece. It can take a month or more to create a new candle design, from the first flash of inspiration to the finished piece.

The intricate design takes shape through extensive sketching and planning. It is then sculpted from modelling material, which is used to make a highly detailed custom-made mould. The Nadine’s Candle team mix their luxurious candle wax blend and hand pour each candle before painting and finishing each piece individually – a process that takes up to two days per item. “Painting is also a crucial step as it represents 90% of overall creativity.” Nadine explains, “It is the final step in production and it makes a candle look exquisite.” As each piece is hand finished, they are all slightly different and have a unique character.

Nadine focuses on the artistic elements of the piece, and so chooses not to scent her candles. The candles are a visual treat, and their beauty is magnified when they are lit. As they burn, a tunnel is formed that illuminates the design from the inside. The glowing, gold detailed sculptures are a mesmerizing addition to your home and make an excellent meditation candle.
